I have been teaching hypnosis for nearly 20 years. I am Co-Director, faculty and founding member of CATCH (Center for Advancement of Training in Clinical Hypnosis) a training program certified by ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnosis). Hypnosis is an important and powerful treatment modality and in my 30 years of practicing hypnosis, I have continually found that hypnotherapy facilitates deep and lasting change for so many patients with whom I work. I am committed to expanding the learning, understanding and utilization of this approach, both in my clinical work, in my teaching, and in my writing. I invite you to learn more about it as well. Our clinical hypnosis training program is multidimensional and can be integrated into a wide range of treatment approaches. In addition, an understanding of hypnotic concepts and language can greatly enhance non- hypnotic therapy as well. I am also a consultant and supervisor in Brainspotting. Developed by David Grand, Ph.D., Brainspotting is a powerful and dynamic new treatment approach based on very recent understandings of the neurophysiological underpinnings of human behavior. On this page, I will keep you abreast of any upcoming Brainspotting trainings in the New York City metropolitan area as well as any Hypnosis courses or workshops where I will be teaching locally or nationally. If you would like further information about the CATCH program, please go to our website at www.ClinicalHypnosisTraining.com. The Center for the Advancement of Training in Clinical Hypnosis (CATCH) is an organization that specializes in teaching the theory and practice of clinical hypnosis to licensed mental health and medical professionals. Psychologists, clinical social workers, physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, and other medical professionals may participate in our training. We are located in New York City, and our courses are offered in Manhattan and Westchester. The Center for the Advancement of Training in Clinical Hypnosis (CATCH) provides all requirements necessary for professional certification by the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). Courses include lecture, demonstration, and small group practice. The 2009 – 2010 Fall, Winter and Spring schedules are now available. Footprintings is a new three dimensional treatment approach. In this work, nine different color sets of Footprintings become visceral tools for a patient to bookmark, track and explore internal experience and shifting states of consciousness as they are experienced in the present moment. You are not just talking, you are making a connection, you are picking something out with your hands, you are laying down a grid. When a patient chooses a color to represent an aspect of self-experience, positions these Footprintings on the ground and then stands in them, the postural shifts and shifting perspectives and associations evolving from this positioning can lead to valuable insights, learning opportunities and new perspectives.
